Before you start
Activate a valid license before saving or exporting. Complete the main cuts and review sound, blur coverage, captions and camera transitions. Export only after the whole edit is ready to be seen.
Save the editable project
Use Save or Save as to keep a .screenrec project. It contains the original tracks and editing settings, including effects, layout changes and timing. Open that project for later revisions; opening a finished MP4 gives you the flattened video rather than the original layers.
Choose MP4 or GIF in Export
Open Export and choose MP4 for a video with sound or GIF for a silent animation. A GIF cannot carry your narration. Use MP4 for product demos, lessons and support answers where speech or application sound matters.
Choose a preset and output size
For MP4, choose Website, Social Media, Presentation or Small file for the intended use. Review the resulting dimensions, frame rate and estimated file size. Open Advanced to change the long edge, frame rate or upscaling. MP4 output sizes run from 720 to 3840 pixels on the long edge; GIF offers 480, 720 or 1080. A larger export does not add detail that was missing from the source recording.
Save the file or copy it
Export to a file in your chosen location. The copy option also creates a permanent exported file and copies it for pasting into an application that accepts files. Wait for the completed export before closing the workflow.
Inspect and share the finished result
Use Play to review the output and Show in Finder to locate it. Check small text, captions, the first and last frames of each blur, and the sound. Copy or drag the finished file into your publishing tool. Share the export, rather than the editable project containing the original sources.
A few things to check
Why do saving and export ask for a license?
Recording and editing are free to try. A valid Lorivelle license unlocks project saving and MP4/GIF export. Choose Activate in Lorivelle in your account and confirm in the browser. Alternatively, import your license file in Settings → License.
Where does a copied video go?
Copying creates a permanent exported file. Use Show in Finder to locate it. Pasting works in destinations that accept a copied file; it does not create a hosted Lorivelle sharing link.
Can I reopen an exported video to change its camera layer?
The exported file contains the finished composition. Reopen the saved .screenrec project to work with the separate recorded tracks and effects. You can import a finished video, but its original layers are no longer separate.
