Keyboard shortcuts for a faster edit

Keep the common recording and editing commands close to hand. These shortcuts work with Lorivelle active and depend on the current selection; a text field keeps its usual text-editing behavior.

Before you start

The ⌘ symbol means Command and ⇧ means Shift. Use the app's menu bar to confirm the command available in the current context. Saving and export require a valid license.

  1. Open the work you need

Start a new recording setup, open an editable project or import a video. Choose the saved project when you need the original tracks and effects.

    Open and record
    ShortcutAction
    ⌘ NOpen New recording setup
    ⌘ OOpen a .screenrec project
    ⌘ IImport a video
  2. Control playback and cuts

Use playback to check the task before cutting it. For Keep or Remove selection, select the intended video range; removing a selected effect deletes that effect instead. When a text field has focus, commands such as Space and Command-B retain their text behavior.

    Timeline and edits
    ShortcutAction
    SpacePlay or pause the timeline
⌘ ←Step backward by one frame
⌘ →Step forward by one frame
    ⌘ BSplit at the playhead
⌘ TKeep the selected video interval
⌘ DeleteRemove the selected interval or effect
    ⌘ ZUndo
    ⇧ ⌘ ZRedo
  3. Pause or finish a recording

During a recording, Pause and Resume let you prepare the next step in the same take. Stop finishes the take and opens it for editing. These commands are enabled while a recording is active.

    Recording controls
    ShortcutAction
⇧ ⌘ PPause or resume the recording
    ⇧ ⌘ RStop the recording
  4. Keep the project and export the result

Save a project when you want to revise its sources and edits later. Export opens the finished-file options. The commands remain unavailable when their required project or license state is missing.

    Save and export
    ShortcutAction
    ⌘ SSave the editable project
⇧ ⌘ SSave the project as another .screenrec file
    ⌘ EOpen Export

A few things to check

Why does Command-B change text instead of splitting?

When a text field is active, Lorivelle preserves text-editing behavior. Finish the text edit and return focus to the timeline before using a timeline command.

Does Command-N start capturing immediately?

It opens New recording setup. Choose the sources and start the recording there; the shortcut does not skip setup and permissions.

Why is Export unavailable?

Open a usable project and activate a valid license. Export also remains disabled while a text edit or another export is active. Finish the current action, then use the Export button or menu command.

Try it with your own recording.

Record and edit for free. A license unlocks saving and export.
